| Irma Rosado, Co-Founder and President, has a degree in Business Administration. She has contributed to capacity building of several non-profits in Mexico dealing with issues such as street children, human rights, women's rights, HIV/AIDS and social development. Irma won a fellowship from the Ashoka Foundation in 1991 for her work on the fight against HIV/AIDS. She participated with WHO and the Royal Tropical Institute of Netherlands to contribute to the improvement of health services for people with AIDS. |
Michael Gerber, Treasurer, received his M.B.A with a major in hospital management and finance. After serving as a health care executive for nearly 30 years, including 3 years as a captain in the Army Medical Service Corps, and as CEO at hospitals in Ohio and Florida, he and his wife Jean decided to retire in San Miguel in 2002. The retirement stint lasted for less than a year before he and Jean began developing residential properties in San Miguel de Allende. The dichotomy between this new enterprise and the building of Casita Linda homes is quite ironic, because the joy of providing homes to extremely poor families has been so much greater. |
Jeff Castner, Secretary, took an early retirement from the Los Angeles Superior Court bench to move to San Miguel de Allende in 2005 with his wife, Suzanne. He began working with Casita Linda a year later. Jeff enjoys the physical nature of the construction work in the outdoors, and the easy camaraderie with the Mexican employees and the American and Canadian volunteers. |
Jean Gerber, Executive Director, was a commercial real estate broker for the past 20 years in Miami and San Francisco. She and her husband, Michael, came to San Miguel de Allende in 2002 and have been developing custom homes for clients in San Miguel, currently finishing the 10 th home. Jean has been with Casita Linda since the spring of 2006 and has been active all aspects of the organization. |
Charles Cunliffe, Head of Construction, was born in Montreal, Canada. While traveling through Denver, CO., he met his wife of 30 years. While in Denver Charles started a mortgage company that over 20 years became the largest FHA lender (government guaranteed loans) in Colorado, with a focus on first time home buying Latinos. After selling his company 5 years ago, Charles and his wife set out to find Home. They have found that Home here in San Miguel. |
Carol Jackson, Head of Fundraising and Development, moved with her husband, Art Bone, to San Miguel in 2005. She was a 25 year banking executive with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. She is passionate about affordable housing and currently serves on the board of the Atlanta Housing Authority, the Community Affordable Housing Equity Corporation in Raleigh, NC, and Midcountry Bank. Carol is a CPA and received her BS from the University of South Alabama, in Mobile. |
Gordon Logan, Advisor, has been volunteering with Casita Linda in the construction of houses since the summer of 2006. He is past president of Rotary Club San Miguel de Allende-Midday. He recently founded Logan Construction Consulting to help foreigners build homes in San Miguel. He and his wife Muriel moved to San Miguel full-time in 2002. |
